On Wednesday, October 12, 2022, Lakewood Ranch Women’s Club (LWRWC) held a milestone Birthday Celebration Charity Fundraiser commemorating 25 years of fun, friendship, and charitable giving! This spectacular celebration at the beautiful Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club featured an exciting Locked Treasures Raffle, elegant Silent Auction, gourmet dinner, and dancing. The event raised $17,000 that will benefit LWRWC’s four adopted 501(c)(3) charities: Hope Family Services, Solve Maternity Homes, Sarasota Manatee Association of Riding Therapy (SMART), and Children’s Guardian Fund.

In her opening remarks, Monika Templeman, Event Chair, said, “I feel blessed to live in such a caring community that comes together to help those in need! We are grateful to celebrate together having been spared much of the devastation caused by Hurricane Ian, but sadly, some among us were not as fortunate. Our wonderful, adopted charities and the clients they serve, suffered considerable losses as a result of  the hurricane, which compounded the problems caused by the pandemic! Now, more than ever, our adopted charities need our help to continue the vital work that they do!” On behalf of the Women’s Club, Monika presented Humanitarian Awards to the Executive Directors of their Adopted Charities.  Event Sponsors Laurie Fox, Coldwell Banker, and Joseph Adamchak, Senior Vice President, Adamchak & Associates Wealth Management – Merrill Lynch, also received Humanitarian Awards for their unprecedented support of our LWRWC adopted charities since 2015!

The magical evening culminated with Carol Belmont,  LWRWC President, presenting the 2022 Woman of the Year Award to Irene Shatz for her outstanding accomplishments as the Cultural Donations Chair for our Charity Fundraisers. As a teacher in New York, Irene went above and beyond to help students with special needs and is a strong supporter of the Arts! She is proud of being 85 years young and is still going strong to do good work in our community!

LWRWC is grateful to Business Platinum Benefactor Sponsor Laurie Fox – Coldwell Banker Realty; Platinum Sponsor,  Andrew Tanner – Premier Sotheby’s; Gold Business Sponsors: Schroeder-Manatee Ranch, LWR Communities (SMR); Adamchak & Associates Wealth Management – Merrill Lynch; Vanessa Fine Jewelry; Solve Maternity Homes; Manatee Community Foundation; and the 15 Individual Sponsors and 62 Donors for their phenomenal support!  Special thanks to Out and About Sarasota for covering our event!
