You Can Help Our Kids Thrive During the 2014 Giving Challenge

In one week, you will have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children in foster care and state care.

On May 6 and 7 there will be a collaborative fundraising effort between the Sarasota Community Foundation,  Manatee Community Foundation, Patterson Foundation, Selby Foundation, Charlotte Community Foundation, Knight Foundation, and more than 350 local not-for-profit organizations.

It’s called the 2014 Giving Challenge. It takes place over a 24 hour period when members of the community are asked to give a minimum donation of $25 to a local charity of their choice via computer. Early donations will be matched dollar for dollar and random financial awards will be given to participating nonprofits throughout the duration of the event.

The event begins at noon next Tuesday. If you don’t have access to a computer, you are encouraged to stop by the Children’s Guardian Fund office in Sarasota or call the office (941-504-9515) and we will process the contribution for you.

This is a wonderful way for your friends, family and neighbors to support this important work.
