Local Businesses Receive Plaques for Hiring Foster Care Youth

Children’s Guardian Fund President, Hal Hedley, presents plaques to Mark Richmond from Furniture Warehouse and Phillip Tavill, CEO of Children First for providing summer jobs for two young women in foster care. One is a senior at Booker High School and worked part-time through the summer gaining valuable experience working in an office environment. The other is a senior at Southeast High School and worked part-time through the summer gaining valuable experience working with children.  Kids Getting Jobs seeks employers who provide a disciplined work structure and who will train an area foster child to develop strong work habits while earning money to help with school and clothing.
