Children’s Guardian Fund Elects New Vice-President and Secretary

Sarasota, July  — The Children’s Guardian Fund recently elected Andrea McHugh as vice-president and Carol Belmont as secretary of the organization that helps the thousand local abused, neglected and abandoned children who now are in state custody.

McHugh is an Assistant State Attorney and prosecutes crimes against children, including sexual crimes and homicides.  Belmont is a volunteer Guardian ad Litem, and was the Vice President at Dell Services and IBM prior to her retirement.

Harold “Hal” Hedley will continue as president and Kimberly Hopper will continue as treasurer for the next year.

New to the board in the past fiscal year is Jeremy Carter.

The Children’s Guardian Fund partners with the Guardian ad Litem program to provide resources that fill the basic needs and enrich the lives of children in foster and state care in Florida’s 12th Judicial Circuit. They also support the recruitment, training and retention of Guardian ad Litem child advocates, and promote public awareness and community support for the children’s needs.
