Matthew C. Rzepa Jr.is a Florida Certified Public Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner practicing in Sarasota as a Senior Accountant with Kerkering Barberio, a public accounting firm. His focus is leading assurance engagements including financial statement compilation, review, audit and consultation services in a variety of industries, specializing in construction and not-for-profit entities. Additionally, he is retained by clients to investigate, perform procedures, and report on a broad array of forensic accounting needs surrounding known or suspected fraud. As a value-added service to clients, his Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt level) training and experience lends itself to a strong working knowledge of internal controls, especially as they relate to information technology and process improvement.
When not serving clients, Matthew volunteers his time as a Guardian ad Litem with the 12thJudicial Circuit Court, advocating for children embroiled in the dependency court system. He also serves as the events and membership coordinator on the Tampa chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners(ACFE)board of directors. Matthew is a member of the AICPA, FICPA, national and local chapters of the ACFE, Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and InfraGard, a public/private partnership with the FBI. Additionally, he is a member of Braden River VFW Post 12055 which assists local veterans in need, where he also serves to chair the finance committee. Matthew is a United States Marine Corps combat veteran, happily married to his wife Michele and living in Bradenton with their sons Declan and Asher.
