Jasmine Cresswell Candlish

In addition to being a board member for the Children’s Guardian Fund, Jasmine is a volunteer Guardian ad Litem serving in the 12th Judicial Circuit. She and her family moved to Sarasota in 1992 after living in several different states and countries. She served for three years on the board of United Way and together with her husband, Malcolm, she remains a member of United Way’s De Tocqueville Society. She has been a financial supporter of both Planned Parenthood of South West Florida, and the Healthy Families program of Jewish Family and Children’s Services.

Jasmine and her husband recently established a fund with Gulf Coast Community Foundation to support mothers being released from incarceration. The Fresh Start for Families program aims to provide safe, sober housing, along with wrap-around services, to help former inmates become self-supporting, productive members of society as well as loving, capable parents.

In her professional life, Jasmine has published more than 70 novels, with more than 17 million copies of her books in print. She is a founder and past president of Novelists, Inc., the national organization for published authors of commercial fiction. She is also a past president of Colorado Authors League and Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers.
