Major Connie Shingledecker graduated Summa cum Laude from Saint Leo College with a B.A. degree in Public Administration and a minor in Criminology. After that she graduated from FBI National Academy, 185th Session, in Quantico Virginia. She is a thirty-five year veteran law enforcement officer with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office, beginning her career in 1977 working in various areas within the agency.
She is the retired Investigative Bureau Chief over Criminal Investigations, Child Protective Investigations, and Narcotics and Vice. Besides being on the board of the Children’s Guardian Fund, Major Shingledecker is very active in the community and instructs in the areas of Domestic Violence, Sexual and Physical Child Abuse, Death Investigations, Stress Recognition, Ethics and Courtesy, Sudden Unexplained Infant Death Investigation, Crime Scene Re-enactment and Re-construction and Juvenile Delinquency.
