Betty Ewing

Mrs. Ewing has been a Children’s National Medical Center volunteer in various capacities for many years. She is a member of the Board of Visitors and served as its president 1980-1982, during which time she also served on the Children’s Hospital Board of Directors. Mrs. Ewing has participated in many Children’s fund raising activities, including Washington Antiques Show for the Thrift Shop Charities. She is a social worker, having worked at Children’s primarily in Emergency Room, Neurology and Neurosurgery until 2000 and currently being affiliated with the Department of Orthopaedics. Her other affiliations include service as past President and board member of the Children’s Hospital International, former board member of The Lab School of Washington, former board member of The Washington Home, and a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). Mrs. Ewing has a B.A. from Smith College and an M.S.W. from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is married to Charles B. Ewing, Jr., and they have three grown children and six growing grandchildren.
