Retired U.S. Ambassador with over 35 years of experience as a leader in government positions both domestic and international. As Peace Corps Country Director, professor and consultant, Barry has worked in the U.S., Africa, Central America and the Caribbean. Early in his career, Barry assisted families and children as a social worker in a public welfare agency in Ohio. He later joined the faculty of the Graduate School of Social Work at Howard University where he served as Associate Professor and Assistant Dean. He has served on boards of numerous charitable and volunteer organizations. He became a Guardian ad Litem in 2016.
