Could you spare a few hours a week to help build a child’s future? Could you step in and speak up for a neglected or abused child in court?

If so, you could become a Guardian ad Litem (GAL) volunteer. This year, an increasing number of children will need someone to give them a voice and see that their best interests are served. Because the number of cases has grown tremendously in recent years, more volunteers are urgently needed.

A GAL is first trained and then appointed by the juvenile court to investigate each case in order to make recommendations to the judge regarding safe placement or special services. You can champion an abused or neglected child and prevent him or her from suffering future harm.

If you would like to become a GAL, please fill out our Volunteer Application and return it to the GAL office nearest you. Each of the three county offices is listed under Contact Us.

It may turn out to be the most meaningful work you ever do.

There is no greater insight into the future than recognizing when we save our children,
we save ourselves.
